This workshop offers a supportive space to reconnect with your body, find joy in movement, and strengthen your inner light. Through a unique blend of playful running and yoga, you’ll discover tools to navigate the dark season with balance, resilience, and community.
Whether you are an experienced runner or just beginning, this workshop invites you to build a positive relationship with movement, reignite your inner child, and learn how to support both your body and mind through the months ahead.

About the Hosts
Maaike is a researcher in geophysics at UNIS and the leader of Longyearbyen’s running club. Passionate about movement across terrains—from mountains to treadmills—she sees running as a way to nourish body and mind, connect with nature, and build community. She brings a playful and inclusive approach, encouraging runners of all levels to discover joy and structure through movement.
Ahyeong, founder of Soul Peak Studio, is a yoga teacher passionate about weaving together mindful movement and creative presence. With years of international experience, she now teaches yoga full-time in Svalbard, supporting her students to find balance, strength, and resilience. Her session in this workshop will focus on post-run yoga—helping the body recover through targeted stretches, functional mobility work, and grounding practices that restore calm and energy.
